USS Ohio near South Korea

The USS Ohio is near South Korea taking part in Key Resolve/Foal Eagle 08, exercises with the forces of the Republic of Korea.

One of Ohio’s roles in general is to deploy special forces troops to fight terrorism near any shore. The boat can deploy Seals, for example, while under way. The procedures for doing so are practiced, and in this case, members of Ohio’s crew are training ROK Sailors in the techniques. For example, Master Chief Navy Diver Dave Gove gave some tips to ROK Navy LCDR Lee Jae Eung on the process 1 March 2008.
